Ragweed in lawns

Ragweed is a common annual plant along roads, driveways, and bare soils. One ragweed plant produces many seeds that are disseminated easily to reach surrounding lawns that are scattered and weakened by lack of fertilizer, very short mowing height, compacted soil.

Ragweed seed germinates in the spring. When it reaches the adult stage, it spreads pollen that causes hay fever in some people.

Learn to identify the presence of ragweed in your lawn. It is not easy to get rid of it quickly because its abundant seed does not germinate during a short period of the year. Also, its seed could remain viable for several years in the soil before germinating.
