Chemical testing of your lawn soil

Some lawns do not respond positively to fertilization and remain weak. Many causes can explain why such as: lawn growth is poor, thick thatch, soil compaction, poor drainage, diseases, pest insects or lack of sunshine.

One of these causes is the imbalance of soil nutrients i.e. some nutrients are deficient or in excess in the soil. Another cause is when the soil is too acidic or too alkaline. It is difficult to visually detect soil acidity or soil nutrient imbalance. One must take a soil sample and have it tested by a chemist in a laboratory to know the concentration of nutrients and its acidity value.
